About the Project
Invenergy began development of the Purple Skies Wind project in 2021, with the goal to begin construction in 2027.
Currently, our efforts are largely focused on securing land for the project, conducting all of our necessary studies to ensure we site our project facilities in the most appropriate and responsible locations, and brining the project to market through securing long-term contracts.
Upcoming Events and Invenergy Community Sponsorships

We value our commitment to our local host communities and look forward to continuing to work closely with Lyon, Lincoln, Murray, Pipestone and Redwood counties, contributing to the area's economic development, and to providing an additional supply of clean, homegrown energy in Minnesota.
In February 2023, Minnesota lawmakers passed the "100% by 2040" bill. This new legislation requires that state power utilities use 100% clean electricity by 2040, setting the standard for advanced renewable energy goals in the state.
Invenergy has completed development on two sustainable energy projects in Minnesota generating over 500 MW in the state and powering over 75,000 homes. Invenergy is pursuing additional opportunities to bring even more clean energy to the state.
